When someone close to you dies, your main focus is usually on the fact that they are gone and how much you would miss them. You think about who they were as a person and all the things they had done in their lifetime.

When people die they also leave behind physical things like money, land, and clothes. The things they leave being are their legacy- it is what they are remembered by. And even though someone grieving may not want to deal with legalities like the will, they have to. They may not feel like dealing with the will at this moment because that reminds them that the person is really gone.

In this photograph I tried to capture the process one has to go through after a loved one passes away. The character is looking at a will but behind the will on the desk, there are many used tissues. These symbolize the grief and sadness the character feels, but they are in the back to symbolize her pushing her real emotions down so she can deal with things like the will. I thought putting this image in black and white helped convey the depressed feelings and theme of death.
